Pilot Scheme Phase 3
After successful Phase 1 and 2 we are now in Phase 3 of our Pilot schemes. We are trying to build learnings across different areas of Leeds and now Bradford with a wider audience to gain an understanding of how removing our identified barriers means for opening up tennis to underrepresented communities. This phase has been made possible by organisations who are committed to breaking barriers for children from underrepresented backgrounds. Our thanks go to:
The Flint Family
Sport England
Sir George Martin Trust
Lexus Community Fund
Local Community Coop Fun
We have continued our partnership with tennis centres in Leeds and Bradford that meet specific criteria:
- These centres offer all-year/weather facilities and coaching, ensuring consistent access to tennis regardless of external conditions. Moreover, they are conveniently located in the heart or less than a mile from some of the most deprived communities in Leeds, easily accessible via public transportation.
- These centres already have existing coaching programs and facilities in place, providing an ideal environment for the integration of children from underrepresented communities.
- Crucially, these centres align with our values and share our mission to open up tennis, fostering inclusivity and diversity within the sport.
By strategically partnering with these venues, we aim to leverage their resources and expertise to effectively implement our pilot scheme and maximize the impact on the target communities.
